Planning Commission Vacancy
Seat 5 of the Columbia County Planning Commission is vacant, and the Planning Department is seeking letters of interest from residents. The successful resident must live in District 3, must be registered to vote, and must be capable of committing to a monthly meeting on the 2nd Monday of every month at 5:30PM. If you are interested, please contact that Planning Department , or review the Planning Commission page for more information on the current projects.

Planning Commission Terms Expiring
The Columbia County Planning Commission is accepting applications for three Planning Commission terms expiring December 31, 2018.The terms expiring include: Seat #2, District 2, new term set to expire  12/2020; Seat #3, District 1, new term set to expire 12/2021, and Seat #4, float district, set to expire 12/2022.

The planning commission addresses issues related to zoning, land use, and development regulations and is currently working on the county comprehensive plan update. This is an ideal opportunity for an interested individual to give back and have a voice in the community.  

Regular meetings are held the second Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at the Planning Department. The commission will meet on the second and fourth Mondays while the comprehensive plan is being updated.

 City Planning Commission Vacancies

The City of Dayton Planning Commission has two vacancies, providing an opportunity for engaged and motivated city residents to provide input and give back to their community. Regular meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Planning Department. The vacancies will fill incomplete terms, both ending  March, 2022.

Interested individuals who live in the City of Dayton should send a letter of interest to Planning Director Meagan Baily via email at or mail to: Planning Department, 114 South 2nd Street, Dayton, Washington.  Letters will be accepted through November 9.
